Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Today I dug into my potatoes for the first time. I just couldn't wait to sample some baked. I only grabbed four of them from one plant but there was still a bunch more ready to be picked and I have four plants all together. My question is: Do I have to pull them before the first frost or how long can they stay in? I am in zone 5, central Michigan. They are planted on the edge of my square foot garden and also covered by a foot of straw. All the potatoes are either completely or half-way buried in the dirt. Any advice would be useful as I have never grown potatoes before. I did it as a whim (I planted store bought russels who were sprouting LOL). Also, will the ones I harvest this fall be ok to sprout new plants next year? Jessica
