A bit of mild spring weather is allowing me to do
some transplanting so I thought I'd post an image of one of 2
unusual seedlings...
I'm hoping that anyone familiar with a wide variety
of SDBs and MDBs will be able to offer some feedback about whether they've seen
this style of increase before.
Both seedlings are growing in a level area,
BTW, not on a slope as the rhizome would suggest. Of the 2, the form of this one
is a bit more pronounced. New increases are connected to the older rhizome by a
"neck" before widening into a 1/2" to 5/8" wide rhizome. Clumps are
tightly packed and increase is up as well as out.
I'd appreciate any insights.
Thanks,
Christy
