 I agree with you, When my children's friends are here they go straight to the broken color and the unique Iris. I am glad there are different Iris to interest them. I love HM..

Francelle, we will agree to disagree.
I find it too easy to find a newer pink iris that also looks like one from 10 yrs ago.
Same as in blue/light blue and yellows.
Some are outstanding, I agree, but broken colors add interest and also attract attention from the younger iris growers.
Even the teens in my area will go directly to a broken color and pass up Happenstance,
Cast of Characters or any other frilly pink.
 
With all the off list emails, I think there are a lot of gardeners that will add HM
to their list this year. Just as I'm sure a few more will add some of those frilly pinks.
 
Mike, I think you are on the right track with some of those recent seedling shots you've
posted. They are gorgeous.
