Donald,
It looks like your seedling is a carrier of the dominant anthocyanin
inhibitor gene, or "I-Gene". Irises carrying this gene will be
white, yellow, pink or orange (carotene pigment) with little or no purple
anthocyanin pigment in the hafts or elsewhere.
