Hi Sherri
We often dig rhizomes for selling just before or during bloom
time, and the rhizomes don't care other than it does mess up flowering for the
season, if you move the flowering fan. However the plants come away well
afterwards. As Griff says,if you want this seasons flowers you have to not
disturb the roots, but otherwise it doesn't matter.
