That’s a beautiful iris bed, Donald. We hybridizers understand stalks that can’t be cut. I usually leave all the stalks of my seedlings on them until I dig out the dogs. It helps save the right ones which I mark with a red tag.

What I like to see. Mostly AB- type plants here, but several TBs, ABs and a
BB here as well. Some plants are completely finished, a several will miss
and several are just starting. If I didn't daub, it would look better by
removing spent stalks and blooms. But I do, so I can't.
