Here is Don Spoon's RED RABBIT ( R. 2002), Sdlg. 98-37A. SDB, 10" (25 cm), EM.
blooming today. The photo doesn't quite capture the deep wine red, almost
purplish color of this beauty. Planted here last fall, it is putting up
four bloom stalks, of which three are blooming and holding their own
against the 85 degree temperature that has jumped on us out of the protracted
upper-50s days. Most of the rest of the SDBs aren't enjoying the change at
all. The high temp accelerates the bloom and shortens individual
bloom time. Keeps the hybridizer hopping, even if the Red Rabbit
isn't. -- Griff
