Hi Loïc,
I got this from Lowell Baumunk's Iris Colorado. I'm not sure who collected it, but I think "Varda Gorge" is the location (in Greece maybe?). It's believed to be a tetraploid reichenbachii (which is a bearded species) but Harald Mathes of Germany has a suspicion that it might be a 40 chromosome type like the Chaemaeiris or Standard Dwarf Bearded Irises. That might explain some of how it's been behaving in attempted crosses for me.
It's a great grower and always very early to bloom.
Best wishes, Tom

i didn't find it in the data base, was not registered?
Where did you find it?
doesn't look like a clone to me, like it's been already crossed with a bearded iris?

Here's 'Varda Gorge' - almost always first to bloom here. It's supposed to be a collected tetraploid clone of Iris reichenbachii.
