Neato. I have a clump of it too but it isn't anywhere near 30 years old! Maybe the one down the road is, it's huge. Love it too. I don't find it fertile tho, how about you?

First iris I fell in love with as a child. Wish they would all grow and
bloom like this. every year.

Under the eave drip line (no gutters), buried in leaves that blow in,
undisturbed for ~30 yrs. Bright red-purple moneywort in the foreground
and blue & white blue-eyed Mary farther back.

This one usually is at least partly frozen out by erratic winter and
early spring freezes. It must have liked our record cold winter - never
have seen it put up so many stalks. If it did this every year, I
wouldn't have started pollen daubing!
