Mike!

That is stunning and WOW and ......

Well that is a treasure.  I am so glad that it is being introduced.  I can see why to color of the falls might wash in a picture but oh what a sight.

Did I say WOW!

and I crossed it with the golden brown rimmed standards seedling too.... :-)
thanks Janet
attached is the seedling.  will come out in 2011 but can't think of a name yet... oh, it reblooms too.

hardest flower to get the color right.  usually the standards fade out in the pictures because the falls are so dark.
Very cold and wet bloom season here, still not at TB peak.  10 years ago peak was April 15th, has been trending later and later every year since.  Last few years it has been around the 23rd of April, this year it will be about the middle of next week.....we still have SDBs and IBs blooming.

OK, this is one of the flowers that looks better in person then in a picture....but I really like it.  Been working on the rim on standards for several years and been making some progress, this is the nicest rim on standards for me to date.  It really pops in the field and for some reason that doesn't come through in the photo....does show the nice brownish rim but the gold gilding doesn't come through.. it sort of sparkles in the sun.
