I do not know if the person who made the comment was aware that there are areas in this modern day USA where one cannot get all the bells and whistles even though you may want them.   Such issues as, no near service, heavily treeed area, steep hills and other physical things that bar one having access to the modern electronic miracles.  We had dish tv service but it failed as clouds closed in or an issue with the sun blocked the signal.  Certainly not reliable enough for high speed internet as the person who purchased our lake  home found out.  She intended to work from home via sattelite hookup but it did not work for her.  Our only internet resource was dial up.

I totally agree Connie, while the downloading isn't a problem I personally have on this computer,  I do understand that there is a general economical crunch out there and can't imagine someone wasting money on a new computer these days if it means less purchasing power where acquiring beautiful irises is concerned.   I have noticed there are a lot of people in this world who still can't afford or use ANY computer at all, so all of us are lucky to be conversing on this list.

Like you, I don't want to read such a lack of social skills first thing in the morning so I have blocked the person sending the comment. (-;

That is a pretty irresponsible reply. In some places, one has no choice but a slow internet service, no matter how much you want a faster one. I speak from experience!
