You have any guesses as to what it is about this bed that encouraged
earlier bloom in comparison with the others?
Are any of the other locations partially shaded?
I've noticed that the partly shaded clump of IMMORTALITY on the ridge
top clay is sending up one stalk after another in contrast to the
several different clumps here at the house (valley gravel to clay loam
over gravel), some with a little shade, none with as much as the
ridgetop. All of them have had bloomstalks, just not as many.
Some blooms on the ridgetop have even produced anthers with pollen!
Definitely a happier plant.
