Thank you all for the great pictures and ideas for oranges. Griff, I
am looking for a little darker orange, but I will start with what ever I can
produce right now. I bought orange impact and planted it about 3 weeks
ago. The pictures look promising, but won't know how it will fare here
until it sets it's roots and starts to show off! So I am crossing my
fingers on that one. I am off to search for Wild West
Wind and Feu-Du-Ciel and
Gratuity. I think McKellar's is a little light for me. I really
appreciate all the insite from everyone. You are all a world of
information! Have a great night

Linda -- For
a dark orange, I'd recommend WILD WEST WIND.
Here's a photo of it in my garden, and you can see another at Dave's Garden
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/104130/.
It's not described as an orange by Lowell, its hybridizer, but that's the
way it appears to my eye. It's a great growing plant, sturdy.
floriferous and a standout. If you want a brighter orange, there are
some, but I won't have my own photos and growth report until next
year. -- Griff

Subject: [iris-photos] Need advice on
an orange iris and a pic if possible
First off, I am looking for a picture of Unyoro, Too Too Ripe, and Wild
Frontier if anyone has them, I would greatly appreciate it.
Second, I am in search of a good solid growth orange iris. I love
the color of TN Vol, which bloomed lovely this year, but the foliage and
growth rate of the plant habit is extremely puny. I have it growing in
2 different places where other iris are thriving and it just seems to be
slow and small. I have Voltage, which is a little better in growth,
but the color is a little to gold for what I am looking for. Any
suggestions? Thanks for any help that you have.
