Once my garden work is finished, I'll get back to adding in new cultivars.  I'm only about half done replanting a few hundred iris that I had to dig out of 4 beds, to revamp them all and fix the soil that had turned into concrete from too many years of excess rain.  Now, with this extended heat wave, it's baked the soil even harder.
 
And Jan, this means I also didn't get to meet you in Victoria, darn!

Bob, Congrats on both. 

Yes, it is difficult to Search for anything and find it until you then do an Advanced search but even then it does not come up.  I tried to add a couple and was told to go back and search again in the correct area.  This may create problems with general users who visit the site for the first time or so.  If they don't know what class of iris the name they have fits into they may not think it is in the TWiki and give up.

It is interesting that today I finally started to try to add some photos from Victoria.  I only put in photos for 8 cultivars but two were not in at all.  The strange thing - one was from 2003 - a L. Markham SpecX.  The other I could understand as it was from 2010.  Another I questioned.  PCN Banner For Iona was listed as a 2010 Intro but I am sure it was only Registered in 2010 unless they did a special late Inro.  The 2010 R&I does not indicate an Intro date.  Are their particular years which have not been added yet?

I have spent the last few days getting my Convention photos ready to post and now will try to get all of them in.  Then I can start on the ones I have been taking from the 2012 gardens.  Lots of new stuff there.

This August marks two milestones for the Iris Encyclopedia. The restructuring into 20 webs is complete. And the wiki celebrates its 2nd Birthday. It should now be easier to use and faster. A couple of hints; Do NOT do a simple search. That will only give you a search of the introductory, Main web. An Advanced search can search all the webs if you check that box.  But it is easier to go to the Iris class that you want and browse a letter group to find an Iris name if you know its class. Two years ago only Catherine Button and I were looking at the new baby. Last year in August there were 76,000+ views. This year there were 176,000+ views. If you would like to show off your Iris pictures Think of the wiki. Most newer irises have pages but we still have about 36,000 irises to add. But it is likely you will find the page on which to put your pictures.
