The replied to my question and said it was 1988-1989 that they were going to Fresno State and walked by the iris bed every day. ÂWe have a time frame butÂ
I still can not visualize that pattern. ÂI wonder if it is a plicata and they think it is checkered.

I wonder if they saw a checkered lily and confused it with an iris.

Hello,

A lady wrote to Prescott Area Iris Society and they forwarded it to me.

Several years ago on the campus of Fresno State University in their iris garden I saw one with a checkerboard pattern in a soft brown and white.

I never hear Dr. Weiler speak of such an iris pattern not even in his seedlings. ÂUnfortunately the irises are long gone at Fresno State.

Anyone know of such an iris????
