Neil; I am an unforgivable optimist. It is amazing what has yet to be tried. Another source of tetraploids is Seed from natural environments. It is well known that more northern populations or higher altitude populations often contain more tetraploid plants. Maybe we should be trying to get seed from extreme range conditions.

Or amphidiploid forms of William Mohr that we *know* to be such, or doubled, fertile forms of Oyez, Nelson of Hilly and such?

 

The possiblilties are enormous.
