When I was a newspaperman and doing some political cartooning, the staff artist sat a couple of desks behind me.  One day, he passed me a note asking if I could draw him a picture of a cement mixer.  He had to use it to illustrate a story, and, he said, his mind had just gone blank trying to picture one.  I did a quick sketch of a fellow in overalls with a hoe standing beside a large trough, flanked by a bucket of water, a pile of sand and a bag of cement powder.  A moment later, an eraser bounced off the back of my head!
