Tom -- Straying a bit from the garden,
but still focusing on things past:
When I was a newspaperman and doing some political
cartooning, the staff artist sat a couple of desks behind me. One day, he
passed me a note asking if I could draw him a picture of a cement
mixer. He had to use it to illustrate a story, and, he said, his mind
had just gone blank trying to picture one. I did a quick sketch of a
fellow in overalls with a hoe standing beside a large trough, flanked by a
bucket of water, a pile of sand and a bag of cement powder. A moment
later, an eraser bounced off the back of my head!

I took this picture today. I used this very cultivator as a kid on the
farm. How about another one of your neat poems Bill B.
