Pigment extraction, Mystery Blush

On the left is the first extraction, alcohol/water layer on the bottom.
Mashed up flower was removed before adding oil (purified lamp oil). On
the right is the second extraction, alcohol/water layer on the bottom.

It isn't clear in the photo, but the orangish brown looking
water/alcohol layer on the bottom in the jar on the left is nearly
opaque, unlike the typical red-orange lycopene oil layer in the jar on
the right.

The colors look similar in the photo, but in reality, the water/alcohol
pigment extraction is brownish compared to the oil extraction.
