RE: CULT: maiden bloom


Oh, Griff, that is a beauty!  Those are some of my favorite colors.  I see the influence of Sweeter Than Wine in the standards.  It died here after only two years and so did its seedlings, but when it bloomed I loved its pink standards.  The haft marks don’t detract from yours at all in my thinking.

Here is 052O2 in its maiden bloom today, 16 days after being cut from the garden to avoid a freeze. SWEETER THAN WINE X CHERRY GLEN.  A bit too hafty, I think.  More so than either of its parents.  Both STW and CG appear to be carriers of rebloom, though this is the only one of 6 siblings to bloom this fall.  Branching and bud count look promising, although it's hard to tell until the plant is more mature.  --  Griff
