Fw: [SPAM ??][10 ] Re: lumiere d'automne

here's the message i got from Mile Lowe, saying that it's still possible to register when it hasn't been done before introduction.

So i've begged Laure Anfosso and Eric Besse to do it.

Can you imagine that another iris still could come up with this name!
Hard to figure out what is what, then!

Hi Loic,

Have stirred up a cart-load full of correspondence with a form letter to all hybridizers for whom I had emails, enquiring if any had forgotten to send ?web page only? proof of introductions?.

Let a reply to your inquiry slide ?till I we answered the most annoyed of the many return emails! The most agitated respondents did not realize it was a ?blind carbon copy? shot-gunned to all and was not a specific ?zing? to anyone.

Oh well!

Yes, a registration can be done ?after the fact? by ANY concerned, responsible individual who is willing to expend the time and energy to right an oversight.

I append a couple of examples for your perusal:

TZIN (David Shahak by Cindy Rivera, R. 2006). AB (OGB+), 23" (58 cm), E. S. very heavily veined pink-purple; F. brown purple, heavily veined and dotted, large signal; beards dark blackish. I. samariae X S.T.72.176 Houck AB. Aril Society 1996.

WANGANUI GEM (Jean Stevens by Bay of Plenty Iris Group, R. 1999). MDB, 6-8" (15-20 cm), M & RE. S. dark mauve; F. purple; beards white, tipped yellow; slight fragrance; summer bloom taller, branched. Purple chamaeiris X Madonna. In commerce in New Zealand since ca 1930 as "The Gem".

BOUNTIFUL BLUE (Horace M. Hill by Philip Edinger, R. 1999). IB, 18" (46 cm), E & RE. Dark violet blue, beards yellow. Parentage unknown. Hill's Iris & Peony Farm 1942.

ASKALON (S. Jory, deceased, by P. Edinger, R. 1979). AB (1/4), 32" (81 cm), EM. S. lavender; F. chartreuse-buff, shaded purple. (Grace Mohr x (King Midas x Alta California)) X Capitola. Jory 1949.

Cheers,

Mike & Anne Lowe

Hello Mike and Anne

Lumiere d'Automne's mystery is finally solved  :

Thanks to Laure Anfosso, Eric Besse remembered it  was ( Solano X yellow or pink sdlg )

Before i twist their arms to have them repair  their omission i wanted to know if it's still possible to register an iris 14  years after it's been introduced?

Many of us think it's worth introduction because  it's very distinctive.

On top of it, Daniel Labarbe had it rebloom in  september near Toulouse in the south-west of France!

Hope to hear from you soon

Loic
