Thanks for sharing Griff.  I can only dream of such things with 20 inches of snow on the gound. I like the shadow or silhouette effect on the background.

064F1 (Slovak Prince x Romania, Romania), which was tented during each freeze since mid-November and was cut and brought in on Sunday, opened overnight.  Blue-violet stands and deep red-violet/black velvet falls, with a bronze beard.  Two branches and a spur.  Photos attached were taken outdoors in full sun.  The surface of the falls is as black as it appears, with the red showing only at the edges.  25 + " when cut.  I anticipate it will be some taller in spring bloom.  A nice, sturdy plant.  --  Griff
