Several photos showing how the catoenoid (yellow) pigment and anthocyanin (violet\purple)can be distributed on same location on flower. 93-721-2 is typical of many Iris variegata and many MTB. The red-brown stripes on white ground is a combination of anthyocanin and carotene. 93-721-3 is just anthocyanin pigment on white ground. 95-MTB-2 is just catotene on white ground. 93 721-2 has both carotene and anthocyanin pigment.
93-721-3 & 93-721-2 are first generation of Iris variagata regina X Welch's Reward. 95-MTB-2 is second generation.
