Re: TB: Latin Lover


What a nice surprise to see the photo of LATIN LOVER among all these
newer lovely TBs!

It was the first modern TB that I grew that really knocked me off my
feet.  The first time it bloomed here, it was a cool spring with enough
rainfall to keep everything lush and colors saturated.  The colors were
intense, veins in the standards dark next to that lovely pink ground,
and what rich color in the falls!  I had forgotten how velvety they are.

I had to go stare at that iris all of my spare time, & started referring
to it as 'the pink drooler' (I was the one drooling).

Blame this one mostly (but also MAGIC MAN and LIAISON) for my falling in
love with the "umbrata" pattern.
