Hi Char
I belong to an iris society in Murfreesboro TN. They do not charge a membership fee at all, but require that you be a member of the AIS to join. It is a great group and I was surprised to here of this membership requirement when I first joined. This is how the group stays sanctioned and shows their support for the AIS.

Hi,In conversations with many people over the last couple of years I have heard that some society's require membership in AIS. So what is done is the local membership fee is large enough to allow payment of the AIS membership and the local society's membership too. Everyone gains that way.The members are up to date on the happenings in the whole of the Iris world and the AIS membership is stabilized. Why restrict the requirement to the Board members of the Society?Char, New Berlin WI
