Chubby Cheeks is registered at 12", pretty much mid height.That is the height it grows here. I checked registration data. All plants with Chubby Cheeks as a parent that are above SDB height are IB, and with a TB parent on the other side. So while it would be remotly possible to get a taller seedling it would be an IB, not an MTB. Even so it there aren't any plants taller then CC registered with another SDB.
Pink is a recessive gene, so a cross of a pink with anything that does not carry pink would not produce pink. thus if CC carries the recessive pink genes there should be some other pink offspring with CC. Without this evidence it makes recorded parentage suspect. Thus the question if anyone has seen pink seedlings fromn CC.
To get MTB bud count and branching, from this cross is quite unexpected.
While this seeding is recorded as Chanted X CC, my suspicions is that it may actually be a selfed seedling. It certainly looks like Chanted, in colour and flower shape, but none of the width or shape that CC gives to it's children.
Chanted will grow over size here at time. CC is always on shorter side.
Chanted carries plicata, so it would be expected that some of crosses with Chanted would be plicata.
There are (previously to 2009) 9 plants recorded from cross of these two parents.7 are 10-11" tall, one 12" and one 14". None taller then this. None are pink or have pink as ground colour. A couple are plicata
