This is a really lousy photo.  I took a good one last spring, but can't
find it.  This was maiden bloom, growing more or less underneath a monster
seedling from Jurassic Park.

When I gave it a chance, it bloomed well, with 3 full branches and a
well-timed triple terminal, and with nicely domed, ruffled standards.
Never over 27 inches, though.  And so far no RE here.

My mom picked it out through the kitchen window, from about 40 feet
away, on a raw, rainy day.  At first I thought she liked a huge Celebration
Song X Mother Earth one growing near it.  But, no.  She said the little pink
and dark red one.  A fortunate circumstance, as I would not have registered
the other one.

One of it went to this year's National.  I hope somebody sends me a photo
of it, as I won't be able to go.  Was hoping it rebloomed there, but haven't
heard anything.  Mom would get a kick out of seeing it there. She's also
90, on the short side, herself, and doesn't get many kicks these days.

Looking forward to maiden bloom out of it by October Splendor.  Curious to
see if the buds and branches will carry through.
