RE: Umbrata seedling


Here is an unmbrata seedling and a close up of its rim. Its from a plicata 
seedling X yellow (recessive reduction of anthocyanin as one parent as mauve 
and the other was a nelecta))
Both sides had amoena in background but no umbrata for at least four 
generations back.
The best guess is that it is a recessive amoena although the dominant amoena 
could be there in the yellow parent. I suggest recessive amoena as the same 
removal of anthocyanin from rim is seen in the old amoenas (eg Wabash) and in 
the amoenas of Barry Blyth from his recessive amoena lines.
