Chimera is a cellular level change afecting part of a plant, in this case the 
flower. It is usually just tempoary unless it also occurs at growth point and 
then you can propogate this increase as a sport. In this case the cellular 
accident removed the anthocyanin pigment from half of several flowers letting 
us see what it looks like without the anthocyanin. Thus we can see that the 
burgundy on white ground pattern consisted of yellow and violet occurring at 
exactly the same locations in this cultivar. Thus anthocyanin and cartenoid 
pigment had a common control point in the genetic structure of the flower.

Chuck,

I *really* like this chimera. Did you mean this is a seedling out of
"Summer Camp" or a mutant or what? Does it do this reliably? Is it an IB?
