 Looks like wet caramelized (lightly) brown sugar just oozing. Very pretty.
 In the picture it almost looks too moist to be flaky. Someone will come up w a term I'm sure if there isn't one already.

Last photo.
Again - gold flakes?  I don't think this is the same as the diamond dusting we have seen in other photos.  It is there, all over the petals, as well as this sparkling band.
