Re: still more broken color

Yuri,

Do you have a picture of reverted Ziggy that you could post? I'd be
interested in seeing what it looks like. If not, a description would be
welcome

This sort of reversion of BC to plicata is what makes it clear that
most BC are plicata plus something else, like perhaps an Anthocyanin
Enhancement gene with a transposon .

Ziggy grows well for me. Gnus Flash is an iffy grower for me. sometimes
does well, sometimes not. But then I don't always get good snow cover
or consistent snow cover. In mid December had 2 feet of snow, but later
in Dec, it all melted and 90% of garden had no snow at all, then very
cold weather followed with bare ground. Not good for the plants. Right
now we have only about .5 " of snow and temperature was -20C last night
and this AM as well. the ground will freeze fairly far down before we
get more snow. It is suppose to rain tonight., changing to sleet, then
snow.

Hi,

last year was very strange here for broken color irises. Several
varieties reverted back to plicata pattern. ZIGGY reverted completely
into pure plica
ta, so I decided it was mislabeled. GNU'S FLASH reverted
partially (see photo).
