This is a spring photo - the stalk that's trying to bloom in the midst
of heat and drought (no water from me, plus no rain for such a long time
that the grass is crunchy underfoot) is pretty wretched looking, bug
eaten and small, but at least I know this one is capable of rebloom
early enough to avoid being frozen.
