Re: 8-petaled TB SA "Coral Point"

Too bad it isn't a flat iris, that looks kind of nice.  Don't think I have ever seen it do that here but it is an SA and sometimes they do wierd things.  Probably will be "normal" next time it blooms.  Like the picture, thanks for posting.

Subject: [iris-photos] 8-petaled TB SA "Coral Point"

Good Evening Everyone!

It's been a long week since I've posted anything. . . the show was so great, and I had some good fun! :-)

Here is a photo from one of our club members' gardens.   Dolores found this iris in her garden  four days before the show, and had me take a photo of it when I visited.  I know that the flower is going limp, but you can still see the "Quad" symmetry!   Very interesting, indeed.  This iris had an even  FOUR standards, and FOUR falls, along with the FOUR stylearms!  I think it's kinda cool. . . what's the potential for this in the iris world?

Oh, I should tell you the name of the iris, huh?

CORAL POINT (G. Sutton '00)

Mike S, what's your take on this plant??
