English irises are just starting to bloom. First
ones to open are always the blues.
I've noticed that since they've been getting a bit
of afternoon shade and are planted in a spot that stays a bit damp (not soggy)
all the time, they're increasing. Cold doesn't seem to be a problem since last
winter we dropped to -29.
