Re: SDB unknown possibly Trajectory

Sandra,

It is too bad the hybridizers write so many descriptions which do not seem to match the irises as we see them.  Those who publish photo catalogs help a lot.

However some hybridizers come up with color names, etc. that are really strange.  Exactly what are "SAFRANO PINK", "MASCARA", "SMALT BLUE", and ERYTHRITE RED".  [Erythrite is "red blood cell" red - but is this oxygenated blood (bright red) or non-oxygenated blood (dark brown red)?]

It would help people trying to verify iris ids if they would give us straight-forward descriptions.  AND include all the basic colors - like the yellow in yours which is in the picture but not the description.

Thanks Jan.

Yes, it was the yellow that got me.  However, I found a photo of Trajectory in Schreiners catalog and that photo has
yellow in it as well.

Sandra,
The Checklist:  Trajectory (Paul Black, R. 1997) sdb, 13:, m. S. Dark purple; style arms white, edged purple; F. darker purple, white luminata patch; beards white; pronounced spicy fragrance.  Black Star X sdlg  Mid-America 1997

The noid you have pictured seems to have yellow styles.  If so, it probably isn't Trajectory.

Could this possibly be Trajectory (Black '97)  described as "dark purple with white luminata patch and white beards" ?
Does anyone have the checklist description....ie. what about the yellow ?
