{Disarmed} RE: odd bloom, 2 falls, 2 standards...

Was this the last bloom on the stalk?  It is not unusual for an iris to have blossoms like this when it has spent most of its energy producing lots of normal ones.

This is on my Celebrity Song this year...now I am curious, as I have seen a number of blooms like this  recently, on all different kinds of bearded Iris...what causes this? My neighbour has over 500 named varieties, and I saw a lot on hers a couple weeks ago, from all different Iris......
