Robin, your photo is much better than mine.  It really shows off this beautiful iris. 
 
Yes, almost all of mine were taken in the rain.  Sometimes it took visiting 3 gardens before getting a good flower on a particular iris.  It might have been in bloom in all three but many flowers had be so beaten down by all the rain.
