Re: Blue Beard for Eleanor Roosevelt

It's my understanding that Eleanor has a blue beard.
Is this correct info?  Seems some photos show different beards, to some almost white.

I found the below info in an old Cooley's catalogue.

Deep fluorite purple self, with very rich falls. The opening flower is almost black, and the heavy blue beard tends to increase the depth of color.  This is the leading fall-blooming iris in commerce today. It increases very fast, is most reliable inflowering habit and is one of the most beautiful irises in the garden, regardless of its added value as rebloomer. From Cooleys' 1936

This is a photo of Eleanor Roosevelt.  I am sure the Debbie's is not it.  It is possibly Julia Marlowe.  I don't have a photo of it but there may be one online.

I am wondering if it might be Eleanor Roosevelt. Did it bloom in the early Spring and again in the Fall?

We used to have this Iris at a home that we rented.  I loved it!
We now have our own home and I would like to get some of these to plant, but I don't know what to order.
Can anyone help?  Thanks so much!   Debbie
