Quite a few years back a dear friend of mine remarked that she'd love to have an iris that would "look her in the eye". 
 
Every once in a while something new manages to catch my attention and I do a few crosses. This year it was "Murkums" blooming at just over 56" and a pale blue thing that looks like it'll do at least 51" again this year.
 
Is anyone else playing with "skyscraper" type TBs?
