The I. confusa is 2 1/8" - 2 1/4" across  (tip of one fall to tip of 
opposite standard (laying flat)) or 1 7/8" - 2" according to the 
standard way of measuring blooms.

The I. japonica appears to be about 1 1/2" across. but I am not 
confident that is a properly grown bloom yet.
