Here is the Checklist's description of Devil's Riot: "S. apricot with violet midrib flush; F. plush red burgundy; beards orange red tangerine; ruffled, laced". On my monitor, the stands check out just as described, but the falls are purple with a distinct rim, and I see no lace. I wonder if anyone else has a photo that matches the description? -- Griff Hi Griff,
I wonder it may just be the environment where the iris is grown (and
fertilizers used) that portrays the ultimate color. Also my photo was
taken in the shade which may make a slight difference.
There have been a couple of people (besides myself) that have downloaded
what their "Devil's Riot" look like. All of them have some kind of
rim on too - - even if barely noticeable. I wonder if it was just not
noted in the description, or if the person used the word "lace" to describe the
rim???
