Hi Margie, The funny thing is, I remember that iris being just about that dull (the lower picture) it's first year. I was really disappointed. It was a bonus iris with my Schreiner's order and I chose it! It didn't bloom the second year. Then this past year it was quite beautiful. That is why I'm anxious to see what it does this year.
