Hi all,
In late 1996, Larry Doucette sent Linda Mann and me and several other people
irises he no longer wanted to keep. I have three left, and this is one of
them. I took these pix last Spring. Am fairly sure it's an IB altho I
originally thought it was an SDB. It's too tall for that.
I really like this but have no idea what it is even tho I've combed my IB
list and the list he sent me of what was in that bed area. It might be Rikki
Tikki altho that wasn't on the list. This has such wonderful PBF and a great
scent, and sets beepods, or at least air pods since I've never gotten a seed
from it. I sent some of it to Judy Eckhoff. It blooms in mid April and
multiplied nicely. For a long time it was in a pot and I finally planted it
in a bed in 2001. I have two clumps of it now. Here's my description of it:
The bud is very greenish-brown (back of falls). Standards are bluish-white
with a darker blue center line. Style arms bluish with blue streak. Styles
bluish with slightly tipped yellow. Falls reddish-purple-brownish in middle,
greenish edges. Beards blue, then yellow, and finally orange in throat.
There is a blue glued-down line, long, below the beard, almost to tip of
falls. Hafts are golden, with brown veins. Falls are green on the back. It
is also FRAGRANT.
