Re: Barbara My Love - Betty

Margie, It does NOT rebloom for me in zone 6, but has been reported by several people in the warmer climates.

I think all of the ancestors you list have rebloomed somewhere.  Chief Redskin and Bronco Brown introduce plicata into the mix, which is one of the reasons I've not used it before now.  The other reason is that Barbara My Love tends to have bad branching here.

It's not that I don't like plicata, it's just that I don't want plicata in this particular line.  It's mainly the beetroot on cream that I'm not encouraging.
If it does rebloom..........where does the rebloom come from? (pedigree below).

(Chief Redskin x Bronco Brown) x Speculator) X S216C: (Oktoberfest x Good Show).

Betty.................. do I understand correctly that it reblooms for both you and Mike???  Is that what I'm reading/hearing???  It has never rebloomed here.

Thanks Mike.  It blooms very early here, plus it needs to be moved this year.  Could move it with pods on it but prefer not to.
, although rebloom is more prevalent when it is used as pollen parent crossed to rebloomers.

Seems to be good both ways, although rebloom is more prevalent when it is used as pollen parent crossed to rebloomers.

Mike, have you used it much as a pollen parent?  If so is it doing as well as it does as a pod parent?
both in bloom and as a parent.
