Your photo of “Fit For A King” Iris does NOT have the lighter rim on the outside of the falls like in Margie’s photo?  Is this caused by the growing conditions in AZ compared to OR?

Margie,

 

Fit for a King did bloom for me last year, but not very well.  I'm hoping it will do better this year.

The thing was it bloomed really late. These photos were taken in late May.

 

And it being that time of year, got a little back spray from the sprinklers that we turn on some by that time of year.

 

This year I'm going to try to be more cautious about that, especially for these darker velvets.

It really puts too many spots etc.  Then if it gets healthy, I'm going to move it.

 

What I liked about Fit for a King was it's beard. And overall shape.
