I see it more as an adventure! Maybe something great will come from this adventure and maybe not, but I'm having a great time along the way! In the past couple of years I've enjoyed children from many crosses that paired northern rebloomers with pretty faces. I've fall bloomers out of Gratuity, Enjoy the Party and Enchanter, along with a number of pretty faces resulting from the crosses.

I love 'Enchanter' and would grow it, even if I had no hopes of breeding with it. More children in the pots. 'Louisa's Song' is the one I thought carried the rebloom.
Due to the bad knees, I didn't get as many good shots as I'd have liked. Lots of weeds showing. I hope I don't have to be a perfect gardener to be in the hybridizer's club! <smile>

'Enchanter' is ( 'Louisa's Song' X F175-1, 'Shadows' sib. ) and i think 'Shadows' pol parent is 'Poetess'. 'Poetess' is also the pol parent of 'Avona' that reblooms. So there must be some rebloom genes in 'Shadows'.
Added to 'Another Bridge' rebloom genes , it is possible you get rebloomers.
So even if it is a bore to cross our tough rebloomers with fancy new non rebloomers in order to get better shapes and new colours, hoping for rebloom only with the second generation, genetics can be nice to us and give us rebloomers already among the first generation seedlings!

This is Another Bridge x Enchanter. It did not rebloom but a sibing did. No picture on that one.
I'm happy with this early stage. No telling how the future generations will turn out.
