Always something new for us, eh Bob.  I'll leave Twitter, Utube and the rest to my husband, since he always shows me the new stuff that's out there.
 
As I mentioned to Bob privately a while back, I got so bored this winter, that I created my own website.  I need to take lots more photos this spring and summer though, both for that and for the Iris Encyclopedia.  We just had another snow/blowing snow day here.  My friendly local farmer just finished ploughing the half mile driveway, again.

El: I see facebook as a different animal and I still like Iris-Talk and Iris-Photos although both seem to be being replaced by Facebook; Although each type of discussion group has its own strong points, I am beginning to get inundated with posts and keeping up with Facebook,Twitter,Cubits, The Iris Encyclopedia, is becoming overwhelming. As PR chair for AIS I feel a responsibility to do all these and You Tube, etc. but it is taking a toll. I have to admit my work on the Iris Encyclopedia has suffered because of the diffusion of efforts. Sometimes I think one more thing will make me Scream. By The way did I mention the BLOG.... I still don't see Facebook as replacing the groups I already belong to.  It's another group, period, but very very active.  Also interesting that one of the Oscar nominated movies was "Social Network", about the guys who invented Facebook.

The one thing about Facebook
versus this List, is that pertinent photos of the season and seedlings
might 
be missed from the
general group, at least, I think so. Depending on your settings on FB, you'll
only get 
notifications on your
'news feed' from people with whom you interact the most with. I just changed
my 
settings so that I
get everyone's info, but with over 360 friends, it's not possible to see what
everyone 
posted that morning
for 'news.'

Facebook is great,
for keeping in touch with my friends that I grew up with and people I meet
along 
life's road, but I
find this list separately valuable and like Linda said, an incredible resource
in the 
archives for
information!!

to Barb ;-) & Facebook, I still have about 90 friend requests from
people I never heard of, not counting the ones I've accepted. & some of
them I probably never heard of either, thanks to fumble fingers ;-)
