Peggy, right above the white area is a row of icons that let you do things. (on mine) Toward the right end is a paper clip. You can click on that and it allows you to browse the pictures on your computer file. Click on the picture you want and it will "attach" to the email as a file. Make sure you reduce the picture to the required size before you click it. Or maybe use the "for email" function.
