Re: I.stolonifera Zwanenburg Beauty

Hi Elm, I haven't said much, but you do not know how much I am enjoying your photos of arils and ABs. I am downloading them as quickly as you are sending them in. What I am currently doing is when I download a photo I now enter the sender's name in brackets at the end of the file name but before .jpg. Can you refresh my memory on Z.B. I know it is not registered but who is the hybridizer and date etc. Thanks loads.

Subject: [iris-photos] I.stolonifera Zwanenburg Beauty

This is a variant of I. stolonifera (and probably thus a regelia hybrid).  It is darker than I stolonifera.  While the SIGNA checklist refers to the brown color as bronze, it is more of a milk chocolate color here.  The fall color is closer to purple than the maroon of the common I. stolonifera......Elm
