Can't help much but I can tell you that my first "named" iris also came from
J & P, just in the mid 80's <G>

Subject: [iris-photos] identity question
Hi~
I joined this list a few weeks ago hoping I'd see pictures of the
irises I'm trying to identify. That hasn't happened, but I've seen
scores of iris I've added to my wish list. :) I've given up hoping
that by chance I'll see them so I'm asking for help.
Back in the late 70's I purchased a set of 5 iris from Jackson &
Perkins. It includes a light blue, a russet, a cherry, a
yellow/lavender (not EdithW) and a dark purple. I can't post
pictures, as I don't have a digital camera. Does anyone know which
iris supplier raised the iris for J&P? J&P doesn't! Did anyone
else start out their iris garden with this set? (lol - that's a
long shot.)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
~Marilyn
