SPU, Jenkins '93. This is how I use the spurias. What I have are planted
between the limestone crevices on the rim of the hill. The drop behind this
one is about a 45 degree angle. Steep enough it's a lot of exercise to mow
with a push mower and an amusement park thrill ride to attempt with a riding
mower. The result is not too many mowings. It can be a couple of years
between mowing, in fact. Here I took some rocks I'd dug up other places and
stacked them (and smashed many fingers) on an existing formation to build it
up so I could have a planting area. Now it is the job of SNOW GIANT to fill
up the space. Since this particular homemade planter is a good bit of
distance west of the house, I felt I needed a light color to get the best
effect. It sure accomplishes that requirement. It is so white against the
trees coming up from the base of the hill and the river bottom below, it
can't be missed. if it ever fills up the allotted space, it should be a
clump with about a 4' diameter. It's making progress but I think it'll
still be a while.
